1. Scope and accountability
This policy applies to personal information under the control of REMA Homeless Impact. The organization follows the privacy laws applicable to it and designates a person responsible for overseeing compliance with this policy.
How the form works
The service application form reviews the pathway and preliminary criteria. When a person selects “Send to REMA,” their email application prepares a message addressed only to admin@remahomelessimpact.ca. The website does not store the responses. Transmission occurs when the person reviews and sends the message in their own email application.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, telephone number and preferred language;
- information needed to understand a service request, review preliminary criteria and provide follow-up;
- the professional contact information of a referring organization;
- the content of emails, calls or other communications you send us;
- limited technical data, such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages and security logs produced by the website hosting service.
Please do not send sensitive information by ordinary email unless REMA has told you that an appropriate secure method is available.
3. Why we use information
We use personal information only for identified purposes, including responding to a request, reviewing preliminary eligibility, arranging a meeting, providing or coordinating a service, communicating with a person or referring organization, protecting the website, meeting our obligations and improving our practices.
4. Consent and choices
We seek meaningful consent where required by law. You may withdraw consent, subject to legal obligations or consequences for our ability to respond to your request. We limit collection to information that is reasonably necessary.
5. Sharing with others
REMA Homeless Impact does not sell or rent personal information. An application sent by email is received at admin@remahomelessimpact.ca and may be processed by the sender’s and REMA’s email providers. We may also share information with authorized team members, with your consent, or where permitted or required by law.
6. Hosting and processing
Some technology providers may process information in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada or in other jurisdictions. Where required, REMA assesses risks and puts appropriate measures in place before entrusting personal information to a provider.
7. Retention and disposal
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes, service follow-up and our obligations. When it is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or anonymized in accordance with applicable practices.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the information. No system is entirely risk-free, so we also limit access to people who need the information to perform their duties.
9. Cookies and audience measurement
REMA does not currently use advertising cookies or commercial profiling tools on this website. Strictly necessary cookies and technical logs may be used by the hosting platform to operate, secure and maintain the reliability of the website.
10. Your rights
You may request access to personal information REMA holds about you, ask for a correction or ask a question about its use. You may also raise a concern or complaint. We may reasonably verify your identity before responding.
